Our History

2007

  • This year has started with a bang. Tower Insurance has employed us to develop a .Net solution for them.
  • Our staff numbers go past 50

2006

  • Macquarie Advisor Services makes press coverage by offering a straight through life insurance solution to their financial advisors using Axelerator as the underwriting engine.
  • We enter into an association with Finity Consulting, an Actuarial and consulting firm to offer the General Insurance Industry a solution using Axelerator with Finity’s underwriting expertise.
  • Calliden, a niche insurer, selects Axelerator as their platform to deliver their products to insurance brokers.
  • Singtel Optus joins our list of impressive clients by choosing us to provide professional services in a number of areas.

2005

  • While we continued to grow this year we invest a lot of time and energy in developing our long term strategy for the future.
  • ARPC, Australian Reinsurance Pool Corporation engages us to develop a system for collecting market- sensitive data from other 200 insurers.
  • We partner with Vignette to migrate MBF from their old content management to Vignette V7.

2004

  • We delivers to the Insurance Council of Australia and 6 general insurance companies a compliance hub to satisfy their requirements under the new Financial Services Act.
  • We won an AIIA iAwards – Australia’s IT association recognising innovative solutions.
  •  A Certificate of Achievement was presented by AusIndustry – the Federal Government agency acknowledging our achievements in the IT Industry.
  • We were presented with an IBM Beacon Awards in Las Vegas in front of 4,500 other business partners around the world. The award recognised Axe Group’s insurance industry solution.
  • Our Insurance solution wins 2004 MIS Innovation Award for transforming ICA (Insurance Council of Australia) into “Smart Organisation”.
  • We won a finalist position in Australia & New Zealand Insurance Industry Awards for Technological Innovation.
  • We were approved under the HIC, Health Insurance Commission.

2003

  • A second grant from AusIndustry program COMET was offered to us to further commercialise Axelerator
  • We were certified under the Federal Government Endorsed Supplier Arrangement (ESA).

2002

  • We were granted the first of two grants from AusIndustry program COMET to further commercialise Axelerator.

2000

  • With the addition of new people into the organisation we moved into their current offices at 51A Hume Street, Crows Nest.
  • We build a major Banking Web Portal system for Telstra for marketing to Credit Unions
  • The Directors of Axe Group saw the need in the insurance market for an underwriting engine and invested their money to develop their intelligent forms engine, Axelerator.
  • We deliver our first Axelerator solution which allows our insurance client the ability to offer real time insurance cover with a custom built underwriting solution.
  • We're engaged in the first of many system integration projects to be performed for MBF, Medical Benefits Fund. 

1998 - 1999

  • We experience rapid growth during the dot com boom and and start developing enterprise solutions in Java.

1997

  • Martin Stewart founded the company offering web hosting services. Starting with only two people it quickly grew and added web development to its services.
